We conducted a lockdown practice drill this morning. We also conducted a test of the RAVE Panic Button app. All students and staff were safe during this drill. We conduct drills to ensure that our students and staff are safe. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep school safe!
Our Candy Man fundraiser is ending next week. Please make sure all in person orders with cash payments are turned in on Monday, 9/23. Have a great day!
Please note students new to NCPS and Kindergarten students - Immunizations are mandatory for NCPS. The deadline for submitting the documentation by September 25. If documentation is not completed, by law students ARE NOT allowed to attend school until this is remedied. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Carter.

It has been another amazing week at Englewood. Parents, please remember that the Tardy Bell is at 8 am. At this time, you must bring them into the school to check your student into school. Please do not just drop off your students at the back. Thank you to the parents that came out for our Title I/Curriculum Night and PTA Meeting this past Thursday. We voted on our new PTA Officers - They are President - Kristi Ellis, Vice President - Kristie Cappelletti, and Secretary - Kandyce Taylor. If you are interested in joining the PTA, check out Englewood Elementary PTA Facebook page. In addition, we are having a Fall Festival on Friday, September 27 from 6-8 pm. We are in need of store bought baked goods for the cake walk.
Just a reminder that the CandyMan fundraiser money is due by Monday, September 23. We hope that everyone is out there selling. This money helps our school with PBIS celebrations and other events throughout the year. Make sure you register your CandyMan online portion to share with family and friends that live out of town.

September 25 - Early Release of 1 pm. (Bear Pride Day) - Wear your Englewood Gear. If you do not have any EES Gear or wear blue and yellow, t-shirts are $10 cash only, in the main office.

October 7 - Fall Picture Day

Our CandyMan fundraiser is going on and orders with cash payments can be turned in no later than 9/23/2024. Please make sure you register your student's information on the website so you can share their page on social media and email. Friends and family can order from anywhere in the US online and have their items shipped to them. Your student will receive the credit for items ordered to go towards prizes that can be earned.

Just a reminder that we have our Curriculum Night/Title I Night and PTA Meeting tonight at 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose Room. We will have a presentation regarding our Title I information, PTA, as well as a chance to see our curriculum with our teachers at the teachers' tables after the presentation. Please consider joining the PTA; we are voting on officers tonight. In addition, we will have t-shirts for sale for $10 (cash only).

Good Evening Bear Family -
It has been an amazing week with your students! I have seen great teaching and learning happening all over the school. I also wanted to take a minute to tell you that last school year, our school Exceeded Growth, and we just found out that we are ranked 145 in the state of NC for our top growth of 6% highest in the state. We are looking forward to doing the same thing this year for our students. We want to keep growing. We accomplished this through hard work of students and staff, but also by being present at school. Here are our upcoming events for this month:
Tuesday - BOG Testing for Grade 3
Thursday - Title I/Curriculum Night from 5:30 - 7:00 in the Multipurpose Room. We will share information regarding our Curriculum, as well as district mandates.
September 23 - All CandyMan money is due
September 25 - Early Release of 1 pm.
September 27 - Fall Festival from 6 pm - 8 pm
October 7 - Fall Picture Day
Please remember that attendance is a district mandated requirement. When you check out your student, they may be missing valuable time in the classroom regarding their learning.
Please make all changes to transportation by 2:30 pm every day. It is very hard to find students and switch modes of transportation in our PikMyKid system, late in the afternoon. If you cannot reach the teacher, please call the school before 2:30 pm.
Our CandyMan kickoff was Friday. We hope that students brought home their packets and begin selling. All cash money is due by September 23. We do not accept checks. Our SchoolStore fundraiser started this week. This is an ongoing fundraiser for the whole school year. Money raised from these fundraisers help our teachers get supplies that they need, as well as plan celebrations throughout the year.
Lastly, a friendly reminder, starting Monday, September 9, 2024, we’ll be introducing a new safety measure at our school, and we wanted to keep you informed. Each week, 10% of our students will be randomly selected to walk through a metal detector or be wanded by a trained staff member. This will include students who ride the bus, carpool, or walk to school. Rest assured, our team will handle this with the utmost care and respect for every student, and we’ll be monitoring the results to make sure everything runs smoothly. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you so much for your understanding and support as we work together to keep our school safe!
