All of the universities that make up the UNC System will award college credit for IB coursesl In most cases, students who pass all of their IB exams can earn up to 32 college credits in our North Carolina public universities. Many private colleges and universities also award college credit, but policies vary.

Students are encouraged to research credit policies at each schoool where they are interested to apply. As of August 2024, the UNC system no longer has a uniform credit awarding policy across its 16 campuses.
